Sample Answer 1
Okay, in my hometown, there is a wild place near a river called “Chahe”, and it’s just located nearly 10 kilometers away from where I live. I saw something that I can’t see in the city at all, like some squirrels, grasshoppers, even a snake. It’s a really wide life friendly place.
Well, I just stumbled upon this place on a lazy Sunday afternoon, intending to find a place where I could barbecue with my friends.
As I strolled along the winding path beside the riverbank, I just saw the abundance of flora and fauna that flourished there, which was not surprising, because this is an undisturbed place far away from the urban area. But what was surprising was that I spotted a family of squirrels jumping up and down the trees and I was attracted by the chirping and tweeting of various bird species in the trees and bushes. Honestly, it was at that very time that I couldn’t help taking out my phone to take some photos for them.
I was so attracted to this place that I even forgot what I intended to do as I went on exploring this place. But I was frightened and swooshed back to the camp site when I stumbled upon a snake slithering through the grass. I was really scared and my friends told me that my face went pale when I was back.
Well, of course this unexpected snake just ruined my mood of exploring this nice natural place. But it still showed this delicate balance of nature that exists not far away from the heart of my city. There definitely exist some other wild creatures, like grasshoppers, crickets, birds, etc.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s a decent place for us to barbecue, and I don’t think I will go there again, because I’m really afraid of snakes. But it’s definitely a home for wildlife.
Part 3
1. Why are the most children interested in wild animals?
Oh, children like them definitely because of their curiosity, which is their nature to find something different and fascinating.
Wild animals, with their unique appearances, behaviors, and habitats, evoke children’s sense of wonder and exploration in them, like the colorful plumage of birds, the majestic movements of big cats, or some mysterious creatures that hunt at night.
Additionally, children’s literature, movies, and educational programs often feature wild animals, fostering a deeper interest and appreciation for the natural world.
2. Should parents take their children to the zoo to see wild animals?
Yes, simply because zoos provide a unique opportunity for children to see animals they might not encounter in their daily lives in such an up close and personal way.
Not only can the visits be a great way to entertain children, but to educate them about wildlife.
Parents should use these visits as a learning experience, discussing the animals’ natural habitats, conservation status, and the importance of protecting wildlife.
However, it’s important to choose zoos that prioritize animal welfare and conservation education.
3. Are wild animals easy to spot in your country?
It’s definitely not easy in urban, suburban, even rural areas. We usually see domestic animals that people keep as pets or livestock, but it’s nearly impossible for us to spot some wild animals.
However, in some national parks and nature reserves, wild animals such as deer, monkeys, and various bird species can be readily observed.
Still, spotting larger, more elusive creatures like tigers, leopards, or certain types of rare birds might require specialized knowledge, equipment, and guided tours.
So, overall, it’s not easy, I think.
4. Are there many wildlife documentaries produced in your country?
Yes, yes. There are many documentaries played both on TV and online produced in China.
These films are very popular, because they often feature stunning cinematography and in-depth storytelling, which are not only entertaining but also educational to viewers of all ages.
These documentaries are mainly about the lives of wild animals, their habitats, and the challenges they face, which are far away from our daily lives. So there are many documentaries about wildlife in China.
5. What impacts does only seeing wild animals in zoos have on children’s understanding of these animals?
Oh, that’s a difficult question. I think zoos CAN provide children with valuable firsthand experience of wild animals indeed, but they often present a limited and sometimes distorted view of these creatures’ natural lives.
Children may not fully comprehend the complexities of animals’ behaviors, social structures, or the challenges they face in the wild.
I mean, The animals in zoos are captive ones living in cages or with zookeepers’ care and attention.
So this might lead to misconceptions about the role of zoos and lives of animals.
