Sample Answer
TV series that I really enjoying watching is 2 Broke Girls. It’s an American sitcom that shows us the lives of two young women struggling to achieve their dreams in New York City. I first watched this show I think a few years ago when I was looking for something entertaining and can help me improve my English.
The show revolves around 2 waitresses named Max and Caroline who come from very different backgrounds. Max is a sarcastic street-smart girl who always had financial struggles, while Caroline used to be a rich girl who lost everything and has to learn how to survive without money. Despite their differences, they become best friends and work together to save money and start their own cupcake business. I love this show because it’s not really just about comedy, it also portrays friendship and chasing dreams.
On top of that, the combination of humor, everyday conversations, and slang made it a fun and effective way to learn English. Since the characters speak in a natural conversational style, I was able to pick up a lot of common phrases, slang, and even jokes that native speakers use.
Overtime, I found out that my listening skills improved and I even started using some of the phrases into my own conversations. And I highly recommend this TV show to all my friends.
Sample Answer 2
The TV series I really like is Friends. I first watched it last summer vacation when I was looking for something fun to relax myself.
Friends is a classic American TV series that follows the lives of six friends – Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey. They live in New York City and experience all kinds of ups and downs together. In the show, they deal with love, work, friendship, and many other things that happen in daily life. For example, Ross has a complicated relationship with Rachel. Their love story is full of twists and turns, which makes the audience really excited. Joey, who is a bit naive but very lovely, always brings a lot of humor to the show.
I like Friends for several reasons. Firstly, it’s extremely funny. Every episode is full of jokes and hilarious moments that make me laugh out loud. Secondly, the friendship among the six characters is so touching. They support each other through thick and thin, which makes me realize the true meaning of friendship. Whenever I watch it, I feel like I’m also one of their friends, sharing their joys and sorrows. It’s not just a TV show, but a source of happiness and warmth for me.

1. Is it beneficial to insert advertisements within a TV series?
Inserting advertisements within a TV series can be both beneficial and problematic.
On the one hand, advertisements generate revenue for producers, which can be reinvested into creating higher-quality content. This financial support is crucial for the sustainability of the industry.
On the other hand, frequent ad breaks can disrupt the viewer’s experience, making it harder to stay engaged with the storyline. For example, during intense or emotional scenes, an ad interruption can ruin the mood.
Therefore, while ads are necessary for funding, it’s important to strike a balance to ensure they don’t negatively impact the audience’s enjoyment.
2. Do you think that parents should limit their children from watching television?
I believe parents should set reasonable limits on their children’s TV time.
While television can be educational and entertaining, excessive screen time may lead to health issues like eye strain or a sedentary lifestyle. It could also distract children from studying or engaging in social activities.
However, completely banning TV might not be the best solution, as some programs can teach valuable knowledge or spark creativity.
Therefore, parents should strike a balance by monitoring content and ensuring children have time for other activities like reading or outdoor play. This approach helps children benefit from TV without overindulging
3. Would your family watch TV together?
Yes, my family occasionally watches TV together, especially during weekends or holidays. We usually enjoy light-hearted shows like comedy series or reality programs, which create a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It’s a great way for us to bond and share laughs after a busy week.
Sometimes, we also watch documentaries or news programs, which spark interesting discussions. I think these moments are valuable because they strengthen our connection and provide a break from our individual routines. Overall, watching TV together is a simple yet meaningful family activity for us.
4. What are the differences in television viewing habits between the elderly and young people?
There are noticeable differences in television viewing habits between the elderly and young people. Older adults tend to prefer traditional TV programs, such as news, dramas, or documentaries, often watching them at scheduled times. They value the familiarity and structure of traditional broadcasting.
On the other hand, younger people are more drawn to streaming platforms, where they can watch shows on demand, like reality shows, vlogs, or short videos. They enjoy the flexibility and variety these platforms offer. These differences reflect the varying preferences and lifestyles of different age groups, with older people seeking comfort in routine and younger ones embracing convenience and entertainment.
5. How has technology changed the way people watch television?
Technology has dramatically changed how people watch television.
In the past, viewers were limited to scheduled programs on traditional TV channels. Now, with the rise of streaming platforms like TikTok and YouTube, people can watch shows anytime and anywhere on their smartphones, tablets, or smart TVs.
Additionally, these platforms use algorithms to recommend content based on personal preferences, making the experience more tailored. This shift has given viewers greater control and flexibility, allowing them to binge-watch entire series or explore a wide range of content.
Overall, technology has made television viewing more convenient and personalized than ever before.
