1. Did you have a bike when you were young?

Yes, I did have a bike when I was young. It was a small mountain bike, all black and sturdy. And it was perfect for me to ride around in the neighborhood.
I loved this little bike, but unfortunately, just rode it for about a year, until grew taller and it no longer fit me comfortably. So l just passed it down to my younger cousin.

2. Do you have a bike now?

No, I don’t have a personal bike at the moment.
Nowadays, with the prevalence of shared bikes in China, it’s become incredibly convenient to just hop on one whenever I need to get somewhere.
The bike-sharing services have made owning a personal bike less necessary for many people, including myself.

3. Do you often ride a bike now?

Yes, I often ride a bike now, but it’s usually a shared one. I find myself using bike-sharing services almost every day for short trips or commuting to nearby places. It’s especially useful when I’m getting off the subway and need to cover the last few blocks to my destination. So, yes, I ride a bike almost everyday.

4. Are bikes popular in China?

Yes, they are popular at least in my hometown because of the convenience and affordability of shared bikes.
However, in some mountainous areas, like Chongqing, a city known for its hilly landscape, I noticed that people didn’t ride bicycles as much. The steep streets and hills made cycling quite challenging.
So, while bikes are generally popular in China, their popularity can vary significantly based on the geographical features and infrastructure of different regions.

Sometimes a 30-kilometer route just for fun.
