IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic Laughing
Sample Answer 1
1. Do you enjoy watching interesting and funny movies?
Absolutely. I love watching them, because these movies are usually very funny and people in those movies are very silly. So the laughter and humor in movies often lift my spirits and put me in a good mood.
More importantly, those hilarious characters and silly stories can somehow make me think my life is not that miserable. So those movies are great stress relievers.
2. Do you think you are a funny person?
I’m afraid not. I’m not good at cracking jokes or being the life of the party.
However, I do believe I can be quite funny with my closest friends and family. I tend to reserve my humorous side for those I’m most comfortable with, where I feel free to express myself without hesitation. But with strangers or in formal settings, I might come across as more reserved and less inclined to make jokes.
3. Are you a person who often makes others laugh?
Just as I mentioned earlier, I can definitely make my closest friends and even children laugh with my jokes or antics. I enjoy seeing their faces light up with laughter and find it rewarding to bring joy to others.
However, when it comes to strangers or people I’m not familiar with, I might not be as quick to make them laugh.
4. Do you always laugh at funny things?
Oh, that really depends. If I’m alone and come across something funny, yes, will laugh out loud without hesitation. But when I’m with others, I tend to be more mindful of my laughter. I don’t want to offend or embarrass anyone by laughing at something they might not find amusing.
Additionally, I’m aware that sometimes people might misinterpret my laughter as being directed towards themselves, which is not my intention. So, I’m careful when it comes to some situations that I personally think is funny.
