(Update 2025) IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic Machine

Among all the household appliances that I own at home, I think the ice machine could be my favorite. Not because I just literally couldn’t live without it, it’s just because I enjoy drinking something with ice, especially the carbonated drinks. I mean, cola without ice just tastes terrible. It also helps me drink much water on a daily basis. So I think that should be my favorite.

Of course, I do believe they are very important.
I mean they to a large extent help release me from some tedious household trolls, like sweeping and mopping the floors or doing the laundries by myself so that I could use up those times to do something that I want or just to spend some me time or some quality time with my families.So yeah, they are of great importance to my life.

In the past, I didn’t really have this habit of reading it because those machines used to be quite easy to use, and it’s quite straightforward and simple. As long as you press those buttons, it just starts working. But now I would say sometimes I need to read the instructions to learn about the functions of some machines. They’re just way advanced and way more complicated than before. So I think maybe yes, especially when you buy some quite expensive and big appliances, it’s better for you to read it.

As I’ve mentioned, I do believe sometimes it is necessary because it could help you to explore and learn more about the machine itself and to be able to use all of its functions. Most importantly, it’s better to read the notice so that you could use the machine in appropriate way without, you know, accidentally reducing its lifespan.

Definitely my favorite machine is my vacuum.
Because I’m a bit of a neat freak. I need my house to be completely spotless, so I’ll vacuum practically every single day. When my house is really clean, I feel cozy and comfortable in it, so having a vacuum is a must for me.
