IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic Quiet/ Noisy Places – Sample Audio

1. Do you like quiet or noisy places?

Well, I feel like it really depends on my mood because there are times that I want to go somewhere that’s full of hustle and bustle, that’s really chaotic, very hectic.
That’s got a lot of, for example, street food. I like to go to some of these St. markets, for example, every time when I went to Hong Kong, I would go to these St. markets. I would walk around in some of these St. markets, for example. And there are also quite a lot of night markets as well where you can enjoy all kinds of food.
And I like to find a lot of these places.
But I do like to get away from all the hustle and bustle once in a while to sort of take my mind off things. I was raised in a city, so I’m kind of used to like the city lifestyle.
I like to live in a big metropolis with a lot of actions and a lot of stuff going on.
But once in a while I do have to get out of the city and recharge my batteries a little bit, right? Because you’re going to feel suffocated if you’re stuck in the city all the time.

2. Would you like to go quite or noisy places on weekends when you are free?

I would say it really depends on my mood. I was raised as a big city boy, so I’m actually used to that kind of hectic lifestyle. I do enjoy it, actually.
But if I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress this week, there’s quite a lot of stress for my work and I haven’t really been able to relax or take my mind off things. Probably prefer to go somewhere that’s a little bit quieter, you know, so that I can sort of take my mind off things and I can find a place that’s a little bit more soothing for me.

1. Do you like quiet or noisy places?

Sample answer for quiet places
Well, I’m definitely more into quiet places. To me, peace and quiet provide a perfect environment for concentration. For instance, whenever I need to study for important exams or work on some challenging tasks, I always choose the library. The hushed atmosphere there allows me to fully immerse myself in my work without any distractions. Also, quiet places like a small park in the early morning are great for relaxation. I can take a stroll, listen to the birds singing, and enjoy the beauty of nature, which helps me relieve stress and clear my mind.

Sample answer for noisy places
I have a strong preference for noisy places. The vibrant energy and lively atmosphere in such places really appeal to me. Take a bustling night market for example. There are crowds of people, vendors hawking their goods, and the delicious smell of various street foods wafting through the air. It’s so exciting! I enjoy the sense of community and the opportunity to socialize with different people. Besides, noisy places like concert venues are where I can truly let loose. When the music is blasting and everyone is singing and dancing together, it creates an unforgettable experience full of passion and joy.

2. Would you like to go quite or noisy places on weekends when you are free?

On weekends, I’d much rather head to quiet places. After a busy week at work or study, I really need some peaceful time to unwind. For example, I often visit a small, quiet café near my home. I can sit by the window, savor a cup of coffee, and read my favorite book. The gentle music in the café and the absence of hustle and bustle create a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. It helps me recharge my batteries and get ready for the coming week.
