(2025) IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic Young People

In my country, young people are really into a wide range of activities.
First and foremost, many of them enjoy hanging out with friends at shopping malls, not only for shopping but also for catching up over a cup of coffee in a trendy café. It’s a great way to relax and socialize.
Moreover, working out at the gym has become extremely popular. Young people are more health – conscious these days, and they see fitness as a lifestyle. They often share their workout routines and fitness achievements on social media.

I don’t actually know much about the fashion trend among young people in my country. I mean, I see different trends on the street, but I’m not like a fashionista or anything like that, You know, like I don’t keep up with the trends. I don’t really follow a lot of these social media accounts that talk about trends and stuff, right? So I wouldn’t really know what to say.

But if I had to guess, I would say a lot of young boys, for example, like to dress in a way that’s a little bit more hip hop ish. They wear like pretty baggy clothes and stuff. And I’ve seen quite a lot of young guys that are groomed like that.

In terms of girls, I feel like there’s a lot more variety. It seems like nobody wants to be the same as everybody else, right? So everybody’s different and everybody has a very different style. I do get the feeling that a lot of them have like a similar kind of makeup style, but I feel like in terms of clothing, there’s a lot more variety.

Yeah, but I wouldn’t really know because like I said, I’m not really a fashionista.
