A place that I plan to travel to in the future is St. Petersburg, Russia. I have always been fascinated by Russian history and the culture of this popular tourist destination.

I really hope to visit this city next year during my mid-year holidays. The weather during this time of the year should be perfect for traveling, too.

I think that I’d travel to St. Petersburg by plane because this is the most convenient means of getting there from my country.

With my background in Russian history, I am eager to see some of the places I read about in my classes.
The top spot I want to visit is the Winter Palace, which is the former residence of Russian emperors.

Besides that, I plan to explore the museums and theaters located in St. Petersburg.

I want to visit this city with my best friend, who is also captivated by Russian history and culture. We’ll probably start planning our travel itinerary as soon as we can.

I would love to visit St. Petersburg because it is a cultural center with a rich history. This city is home to many stunning landmarks and attractions, so I am sure that St. Petersburg will be an unforgettable experience for us both.

A place i plan to travel to that is far away from my home is Jiaxing in Zhejiang province. It is located in the southern part in my country. Maybe it is not as famous as Shanghai or Beijing, but it is actually a national historical and cultural city with typical customs of Jiangnan water town To be specific, Jiaxing was founded in qin dynasty with a history of more than 2,000 years. It is known as the “land of fish and rice” and “home of silk”

I would like to go there by airplane. Firstly, it is more comfortable, with spacious seating and excellent service, so I can enjoy a better travel experience and do not need to tolerate the crowded railway carriages.

Besides that, it is more quickly. I will spend less time on the transportation, and set aside more time to appreciate the scenery actually. it takes only 2 hours for me to get there by plane, but it may takes a night by train, I even need stay overnight in the train.

As for the reason why I would to go there is that, I like ancient buildings very much. After searching on the Internet, I found there also exists a beautiful town called wuzhen, it’s been said that, it is a town with rivers, bridges, delicate buildings and so on.

So I want to take some photos over there. I can imagine that, when I am standing on the bridges, it is just like staying in an island far away from the busy life in the cities. After sightseeing, I want to have lunch in a local restaurant.

Because wuzhen was regarded as the resort for royal family to enjoy their summer holidays, so it must remain some authentic royal food. Also, my friends told me that, the waiters are all in the ancient costumes.

Part 3

1. Where do people usually travel on holidays?

I’ve observed that people usually head to the beach or a water park for vacation.

For busy people, holidays are the only time for them to unwind and enjoy time in the water, so it’s a usual destination.

Besides that, people may also go to popular theme parks, like Disneyland or Ocean Park.

I wouldn’t say it’s the fault of social media, but people nowadays want to visit those popular attractions since many of their friends and acquaintances have already been there.

2. Why do some people think it is enjoyable to stay at home on holidays?

For some, going on a vacation far away is very stressful.

Much planning and budgeting are involved, and sometimes people have to make sacrifices at home and work just for such a trip to push through.

That’s why they prefer staying at home since there’s less pressure and less spending too.

It’s also safer vacationing at home, especially if you have young children.

Some parents don’t want to risk exposing their young children to disease or the elements, so the family stays home.

3. How do students who have taken a gap year differ from other students?

Whether a gap year is worth it or not is always a heated topic.

There are certainly benefits that cannot be overlooked. For instance, students often find their true interests in the field of study once they have some work experience and get to know more people.

By working in different jobs during a gap year, one can build a better understanding of the career they want to pursue.

The downside is that the jobs allowed during gap years are often very entry-level positions that may not provide enough insights into an industry.

In some cases, the time might be better spent studying for a few years and applying for internships.

4. What do you think is the most desirable place for people to visit during the holiday?

Ah, the quest for the ultimate holiday destination!

Well, it really depends on one’s preferences. Some folks yearn for the sun-kissed beaches of exotic tropical paradises, where they can bask in the warmth and sip fruity cocktails.

Others crave the thrill of exploring vibrant cities, with their bustling streets, iconic landmarks, and diverse cultural experiences.

Ultimately, the most desirable place to visit during the holiday is wherever
tickles your fancy and ignites your sense of adventure.

It’s about finding that perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and creating unforgettable memories.
