Sample Answer 1
I am a very impatient person, and it is very difficult for me to wait for things. But recently I waited to buy a mobile phone and it was one of the longest times I had to wait for something.
My phone broke down 3 months ago and I had to buy a new one.
This time I was going to buy an iPhone. However, when I was searching online, I came to know that a newer version of the iPhone was coming out in one month. I asked my parents, and my parents told me if I could live for one month without a phone, they would buy me the latest version.
I thought it would be easy, but I was so wrong. The one month seemed like a year. I couldn’t talk to my friends or chat with them. They used to call my parents if they needed to tell me something important but as my parents needed their phones, I couldn’t talk for long.
For the first two weeks I was very irritated and one or two times, I nearly broke down and told my parents to just buy me the previous model.
However, then I got used to it. Since there was no phone, I had a lot of free time. I spent this time playing outdoor games with the neighbor’s children. I actually started enjoying it and I started missing my phone less and less day by day.
If I had to talk to my friends, I just visited them. I also came to the realization that I had become addicted to my phone. This wait was one of the best things happened to me in my life. My parents also told me that I had started spending more time with them. I thought they might go back on their word but as soon as the new model was released, they bought me the phone. Now I still use my phone but not as much. I am not on social media all the time. I do check it but occasionally.
Sample Answer 2
I think people usually don’t like to wait for other people or something because it is kind of a dollar and maybe it’s kind of a waste of time. But there were some exceptions. I think one of thing was the time that I waited for some instagrammable products.
If I’m not mistaken, about a couple of years ago, I just traveled to another city with my friends. It was actually a very popular online destination for many netizens. They wanted to travel to that city to enjoy all kinds of mouth-watering foods and instagrammable shops and maybe tea shop especially.
So there was a product that it was quite well-known on internet. So we decided to go there and also have a try, but while ride the place, one of the headquarters of that shop, we found that it was really crowded because it was the holiday, I guess. So there were many people lying there for the first time to purchase this kind of snacks and also to drink.
And at first I hesitated. Maybe I wanted to quit. But since we have already been there, I thought, you know, what can we what else can we do? So I just decided to wait in the line for our time. And they were probably, I don’t know, 100 people in front of me. But during that time, I just had a conversation, Chat and my friend to kill time.
And I was using my phone to just, you know, view sounds, web pages and the websites to kill time. And finally, when it was my turn, I felt like finally I got it and I had a taste, even though I don’t have like sweet tooth. I still enjoy that. Mukti The bubble tea was really great. It is actually quite tasty, I should say.
So afterwards I feel like all the like waiting was really worthy more things and it is worth waiting for.
Part 3
1. What do people in your country often do while waiting?
In my country, people do a lot of things when they are waiting. It depends actually on the situation.
The first thing that people like to do when they are waiting in my country is they talk to each other and they make conversations related to ongoing topic.
The second thing is that they like to make important phone calls or check the social media account. Apart from this, some people like to read books on their mobile phones and listen to music when they are waiting. Students and children like to play video games while waiting.
2. Why do some people like a slow-paced life?
People have different opinions about their way of life. Life is not a sprint but a marathon. Slow-paced life offers much less stress which makes one healthier.
It also allows people to concentrate on core issues rather than chasing short-term gain or pleasure. I think people who purposefully choose a slow-paced lifestyle are very wise.
3. Is being patient good for people? Why?
Being patient is absolutely good for people today. Obviously, people are gradually losing their mental health due to the rapid growth of technology as well as the heavy usage of social media. People get a bit lost when facing countless choices every single day. If a person can learn to be patient from time to time, and slow their pace of pursuing their so-called “life goals”, they will definitely free themselves from the heavy load of social anxiety they’ve been committed.
4. Are people less patient now than people in the past? Why?
In the past, people were really so much more patient, because they did not have as many options as they have today. Today with the blossom of technology, everyone is able to connect to the all world. With a whole world of choices, people today are only afraid of not being able to see more and experience more, thus no one wants to slow down and be patient with each other.
